The story is set in the Nation's Oldest City, and my hometown, St. Augustine, Florida. It is a unique place- appealing to history buffs, college students, creative souls, honeymooners, and ghosthunters alike. There is honestly something here for everyone, and if there is anything one gleans from reading my book, I hope it is my love of this strange old town.
While the Waverly women, the heroines of my story, are a fictious family, many of the events in the book are based on true events (and a few legends) in St. Augustine's history. In my story the "Waverly women" don't just live and work in this fascinating little seaside town, but their family history is actually woven into the historical events of the city itself, and their choices will be pivotal in determining its future.
For those of you who dwell within, I hope this story rings true. And for those of you who are far away from the brick streets and salty breezes of our fair city, I hope this story takes you there.
